Our Working Process.

DESIGNING:

Expand the limits of your imagination with the help of our professionally trained designers, with innovative, imaginative and creative capabilities. Our in house designing section enables us to give our customers fresh images both in traditional and contemporary styles.
Designing is a very basic step in carpet making. A design is drawn on a graph paper, and water colors are used for the color combination. It is then translated into the weavers code language called, “TALIM”, which gives life to the designers creation.

WOOL:

Wool is the basic raw material for carpet production. We use only the best quality wool in all our Orienatl Rugs. Special care is applied to obtain extra long fibre to give additional strength and a longer life to the rug.

DYEING:

We have complete in house dying facility which enables us to develop any color and shades for any type of carpets. Fast non toxic chemical dyes are used for some carpets. Vegetable dyes are used for some categories to give them a natural lustre and sheen.

HAND-KNOTTING:

The designs, in the form of “TALIM”, and wool are sent to the looms. The weavers weave their soul and character into the carpet they construct.

WASHING:

Washing of the carpet is another laborious task, spaning over a four to five days step by step process. Each kind of carpet is washed differently and required specialized personal trained in the art since generations. Carpet is washed in running water and specialized chemicals are used to bring out the natural color and shine of the weaver’s creation.

SUN DRYING:

After washing, the carpets are sent to dry in natural sunlight for a week or two, in order to give it that special shine.

CLIPPING:

Clipping is an inevitable process, which is responsible for enhancing the details of the hand-woven carpet’s design and its colors. This process imparts an equivalent look to the wool.

STRETCHING:

Stretching is applied to straighten the rug by spreading and nailing the carpets on the wooden blocks. Not every carpet has to go through this process.

PUTTING NEW ENDS AND KINARAS:

Kinara is put at the end to impart durability to the carpet.
